Star Trek: Executive Producer On How Many Seasons Picard Might Run For?

Star Trek Picard executive producer Akiva Goldsmith talks how many seasons Picard might run for? Read on for more details.

I personally was pleasantly surprised by much of Picard Season 1. Was it perfect, no, I had a few issues, but generally I enjoyed Picard. Now one of the executive producers has spoken about how long Picard might run for. Akiva Goldsmith, who was a writer, director and executive producer on Star Trek: Picard recently spoke with Collider about the show.

Goldsmith spoke about what the current plan is for how many Seasons Picard may run for. Picard‘s length might not be completely defined, but Goldsmith says they could go to three or five season. However, exec producer also says that the show could carry on for as long as star Patrick Stewart is willing? Check it out.

I can see what Goldsmith is saying, but I think there has to be a limit. I don’t think it makes sense to just keep developing new seasons of Picard until the day Stewart says he’s fed up. Surely the best shows have a definite end point in mind, eventually, even if not to begin with? I’m hopeful that three or five seasons are the limit here with Picard. I also want CBS to make that decision early enough that they can develop a proper climax to the show. I know Season 2 doesn’t need to think about that, but if they decide Season 3 will be the end, then that season has to be written with the end in sight. If CBS decide to go to five seasons then they don’t have to worry about the end till at least Season 4.

Either way, I am happy to see more season of Picard, as long as it doesn’t go till Stewart is incapable of finishing the show. What do you think of Goldsmith’s comments? Do you agree CBS should have a plan for how many seasons Picard might run for? Leave your thoughts below as always.
