Animated Star Trek Series May Cast Popular Next Generation Characters
Star Trek: Lower Decks creator Mike McMahan teased that the animated series set in The Next Generation time frame might feature some of the latter's characters.
"Next Gen is my favorite era," McMahan told Entertainment Weekly. The CBS All Access show is set aboard a minor Starfleet vessel, the U.S.S. Cerritos, and follows the foibles of the support crew. McMahan, a writer for Rick and Morty, said his pitch was, "I want to do a show about the guy who brings the yellow cartridge to the back of the food replicator so that a banana comes out the front."
