Star Trek: Lower Decks arrive on CBS All Access on August 6

The animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks arrives on CBS All Access on August 6

Star Trek: Lower Decks finally has a premiere date and it’s Thursday, August 6!  The animated Star Trek series focuses on crew members aboard the U.S.S. Cerritos who are often found on all the lesser explored and talked about levels on board of Starfleet ships. It joins Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard as series already on the platform, as well as the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The series will feature crew members “Ensign Beckett Mariner,” voiced by Tawny Newsome, “Ensign Brad Boimler,” voiced by Jack Quaid, “Ensign Tendi,” voiced by Noël Wells and “Ensign Rutherford,” voiced by Eugene Cordero. The Starfleet characters that comprise the ship’s bridge crew include “Captain Carol Freeman,” voiced by Dawnn Lewis, “Commander Jack Ransom,” voiced by Jerry O’Connell, “Lieutenant Shaxs,” voiced by Fred Tatasciore and “Doctor T’Ana,” voiced by Gillian Vigman.

Several of those names should sound familiar. Quad, for example, is a star on Amazon’s hit series The Boys, Tawny Newsome of Space Force, and Fred Tatasciore from the Scooby-Doo franchise.

The series will also bring a married couple into the franchise, as Jerry O’Connell is also part of Lower Decks. His wife, Rebecca Romijn will feature on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as Number One.

Below is the press release for the show.

The fact the press release includes the CG-animated Star Trek series for Nickelodeon still fascinating. That would mean that there’s six Star Trek shows on the air all around the same time as another.
