Star Trek: Discovery gets season 3 premiere date in October

Star Trek: Discovery gets a premiere date for season three.

Star Trek Discoveryis back! Well, almost. It’s back on Thursday, Oct. 15 to be exact. The third season will debut new episodes starting Oct. 15 and will add new episodes of its 13-episode season on a weekly basis all on CBS All Access.

The series will pick up after Commander Burnham and the U.S.S. Discovery go through the wormhole from the end of season two and will be thrust into the future, starting another chapter of the series. The series promises “new friends”, who must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

Just about everyone is back for season three of Discovery, including Sonequa Martin-Green (Commander Michael Burnham), Doug Jones (Commander Saru), Anthony Rapp (Lt. Commander Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Ensign Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker) and Michelle Yeoh (Philippa Georgiou).

Discovery premiered in 2017 and was the initial show behind ViacomCBS’s relaunch of the Star Trek brand for the 21st Century. Since the launch of discovery, two other series have been launched in Star Trek’s Picard and the upcoming animated series Lower Decks. Joining them are Strange New Worlds and Prodigy which is currently in production.

There’s also rumors of a Section 31 television series that has not been announced formally yet.
