Star Trek: Discovery's Sonequa Martin-Green and husband Kenric Green welcome second child

Star Trek: Discoveryduo Sonequa Martin-Green and her husband and co-star Kenric Green welcomed their second child together earlier this month.

This heartwarming news was shared on Sonequa's Instagram yesterday (July 28), where she uploaded a selection of photos from the home birth.

Congratulations to them both and their young son Kenric Green II, who now has a baby sister.

"We welcomed our sweet baby girl last Sunday, July 19th at 8:32 in the morning," wrote Sonequa in the caption. "It was a profoundly beautiful home birth, and now both of our children have been born in the water.

"We never felt that anything was missing, but now that she's here, we feel a perfect sense of completeness. Her name is Saraiyah Chaunté Green, she's got Mommy's initials and Mommy's middle name.

"She's utterly perfect, just like her brother. Thanks be to Yeshua, she's the final piece to our Love-given puzzle."

In the comment section, the actress and her family received a rush of love from fans, as one wrote: "Congratulations to you all! Beautiful name".

"She's gorgeously wonderful. Congratulations to you both and to big brother! And I'm glad you had a safe birth!" added another, while somebody else said: "How beautiful!!! Congratulations to you and your family. Welcome to the world, Saraiyah!"

Star Trek: Discovery cast and crew including Ethan Peck, Wilson Cruz and Gersha Phillips shared their best wishes too, while The Walking Deadshowrunner Angela Kang wrote: "Congratulations!! She is perfection. Love you all so much."

Star Trek: Discovery returns to CBS All Access for season 3 on October 15, while Netflix will handle its international release.
