Here's everything we know about The Knocking, a new horror film directed by Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith. The filmmakers teased the movie back in June 2020, and recently completed a 19-day shoot that involved COVID-19 safety protocols. Leslie and Smith are best known in the horror community for writing the 2018 film Summer of 84. The Knocking Cast
Doug Jones as The Man: Doug Jones is best known for his creature/prosthetics acting in Pan's Labyrinth (Fauno/Pale Man), Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Abe Sapien/Chamberlain/Angel of Death), and The Shape of Water (Amphibian Man). He recently portrayed Saru in Star Trek: Discovery and Baron Afanas in What We Do in the Shadows.
Alexis Knapp (above) as Lydia: Alexis Knapp portrays Stacie in Pitch Perfect franchise, and has also appeared in Project X and So Undercover.
Shiloh Fernandez as Cy: Shiloh Fernandez portrayed Peter in Red Riding Hood and David in Evil Dead. He recently appeared as Trevor in Euphoria.
Zelda Williams as Blair: Zelda Williams is the daughter of the late Robin Williams. She portrayed Frankie in Were The World Mine and voiced Kuvira in The Legend of Korra.
Christine Ko as Maggie: Christine Ko portrayed Angela in Tigertail and Mandy in Upload. She also appeared as Jessie Nomura in Hawaii Five-0.
The Knocking supporting cast includes Christopher Backus (Mindhunter, Big Little Lies), Ser'Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Last Full Measure), Neil Brown Jr. (SEAL Team, Straight Outta Compton), and Shakira Barrera (GLOW, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
The Knocking Story
Back in June 2020, Leslie and Smith teased The Knocking's storyline (via Knight Light: A Horror Movie Podcast). Based on their comments, the male lead will be forced into a proverbial Deal with the Devil in order to not only save his life, but also his relationship.

The Knocking Release Date
As of now, The Knocking doesn't have an official release date. If filming ended during the summer of 2020, then post production will presumably take up at least the early fall. Expect The Knocking to release by late fall 2020, however it's certainly plausible that the final editing process can be completed rather quickly in time for a pre-Halloween release date.
The Knocking Trailer
Leslie and Smith haven't released a trailer for The Knocking, however they'll most likely unveil production still and teaser clips in late September 2020, or certainly before Halloween.
