Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD box set is on sale now

While a release date for Star Trek: Picard season two remains unknown, and there's only one season of Sir Patrick Stewart's solo series to sink your teeth into, you may find yourself wanting to revisit Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Featuring every episode from all seven seasons of The Next Generation – across a whopping 49 discs, no less – the iconic Star Trek show is on sale for £51.70 at the time of writing.

In other Trek news, The Next Generation's Gates McFadden recently revealed she was hopeful her character Dr Beverly Crusher would one day pop up in future seasons of Picard.

The TNG spin-off has already featured several cast members from the show in its first season – Data, William Riker, and Deanna Troi for starters – as well as Star Trek: Voyager's Seven of Nine.

There's plenty of scope for Dr Crusher's return, then, with McFadden admitting that she has been involved in some level of talks.

"Well, I don't know [about an appearance]," she said, before conceding: "There's a good chance, let's put it that way. But I have no contract signed."
