Star Trek: Discovery Releases Time-Traveling Season 3 Opening Scene
Star Trek: Discovery has released the opening sequence for its Season 3 premiere.
The scene was first shown during the Star Trek: Discovery panel at the NYCC Metaverse event and opens with two spaceships chasing each other, with one of them being piloted by a new character named Book. The other pilot Cosmo threatens Book, infuriated over stolen property. Suddenly, Michael Burnham emerges from a wormhole, which damages her flight suit and Book's ship. Burnham is then forced to reboot her suit in order to perform a crash-landing on a nearby planet.
Season 3 will see the crew of the Discovery flung 930 years into the future, where a mysterious event known as "The Burn" ravaged the universe and destroyed the Federation. They will have to adapt to a new timeline and join forces with new allies in order to bring hope back to the universe.
Streaming on CBS All Access, Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Commander Michael Burnham, Doug Jones as Commander Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Commander Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Ensign Sylvia Tilly, Shazad Latif as Ash Tyler, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Mary Chieffo as L'Rell, Tig Notaro as Chief Engineer Reno, Ethan Peck as Spock, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou.
