Dark Crystal Star Mark Strong Comments on the Netflix Series' Cancellation
Mark Strong, who portrayed Ordon in the Netflix original The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, has commented on the series' cancellation.
In an interview with Collider, Strong was asked about his reaction concerning The Dark Crystal's recent cancellation. Strong responded that the decision was a "shame," especially given how magical the series was and how it was "completely different from anything that you see on television." He called it a family show because of its ability to fascinate children while also providing relatable storylines for the adults.

Start nowStrong confirmed that even if the show had been renewed for a second season, he would not have been involved, as his character Ordon was killed off. Because Ordon wouldn't return either way, the cancellation did not affect Strong himself; rather, he felt bad for the "huge fan base" that had hoped to see more.
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is based on Jim Henson's 1982 film, set years before the events of the movie. Using classic puppetry with cutting edge visuals, the series follows a group of Gelflings as they journey to fight against the tyrannical Skeksis and stop their planet, Thra, from falling to a sickness known as the Darkening. It made its Netflix debut on Aug 30. 2019.
